I am a painter. I am interested in ideas, and how ideas that emerge from separate domains of knowledge can be synthesized within a painting. In my work you may see references to nature, technology, architecture, science, history, and any of a number of other concepts like the Anthropocene and genetic engineering. My paintings find their energy in unexpected connections and unlikely parallels. I am also interested in the medium paint itself, and due to painting’s long history the ability to connect historically with the long line of painters who came before us.
