I am an Ottawa based, professional artist who works primarily in the traditional medium of oil paint on wood panel. My practice has evolved over the years but has always combined an interest in history, allegory and vivid colour to create arresting and emotive images. I loosely subscribe to the idea of Meta-Modernism, and endeavour to create art that is both critical, yet in another sense, romantic and affective.
In 2018, I graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD University) with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in the Fine Arts with a Minor in Art History. During my tenure at NSCAD, I was twice awarded the Robert Pope Foundation Undergraduate Award, as well as the Doris Evelyne Dyke Teasdale Scholarship.
In addition to my Fine Arts training, I also hold a First-Class Honors B.A in Film Studies, with a minor in History from Carleton University. This degree provided me with invaluable academic experience and insight into the study of visual media that continues to inform my work.
