Ayesha Chubb

My practice at present is built on exploration: exploration of mediums; exploration of techniques; and exploration of concepts. I am primarily a painter with an interest in drawing, but within the last few years have experimented in other mediums and ideas, as a method for reframing my creative process and giving myself over to new ways of creation. I have an interest in bringing myself back to ideas that I explored during my courses in Visual Arts at uOttawa, which involve depicting nature and natural phenomena such as landscapes or animals in awe-inspiring ways, but under looser and less restricting expectations. In this way I also hope to rebuild my technical skills in painting and develop a more comprehensive portfolio that I have struggled to build since graduation due to being restricted by the space (or lack thereof) available to me to create. Simply put: I wish to give myself the freedom to create art in experimental and exploratory ways, so that I might have fun with it, shake out the rust, and be more creative.
